With over 5 pairs still in the running for the top prize and another 3 pairs able to podium the last event promised to be a good finale to the 2013 Four Seasons Carp Cup.
The Draw was done at the normal time of 9:30 which saw leader James & Dan 6th out the draw and in the opposite peg to what they have been fishing most of the year. 2 of the 5 pairs who could win the league come in the top 4 and picked a couple of the HOT swims. This promised to make the event a nail biter!
For all you that follow the event on Facebook you will know that the first 40+ hours was a right off! No fish has been caught through Friday or Saturday which made the last sunday morning a bum squeakier for Leader James & Dan. At around 11am word got round that a fish had been caught, which was to believed to have been Ben & Alex on peg 15. James & Dan thought they had been toppled of top spot in the last hour.. I was standing with them and a few sad faces from the pair emerged, Lucky enough for them though was it was not peg 15 but peg 1 who had caught a Cat.. A couple of hugs later James & Dan were standing firm and wishing the last hour would just disappear!
11:25am peg 3 was into the first carp of this match. This was Father and Son duo Peter & Paul Gordon, if landed they would hop scotch 5 places and finish 2nd in the league giving Blean Angling top 2 spots. Nervous time while playing the fish Peter managed to control the fish and bring it over the net cord... (Get in Peter, Bragging rights over Paul for 2014 i think) The fish weighed in at 12.12lb a nice scaly mirror.
This was to be it for the whole event, unfortunately for the anglers participating in the last event not many fish were caught. But this did make the last weekend a nail biter as it was all to play for and 1 fish could have earned 5 different pairs the top prize of £1000.00 and some goodies.
Paul & Peter Gordon took top spot on the day with 2 other places to be decided a cast of was the order of the day! 50 Yards of pure accuracy!! Which was a good laugh between us all, only 2 people managed to score between us and this was a superb direct centre hit by Matt Barlow and an outer bull from Colin Spall.
1st Paul & Peter Gordon
2nd Matt & David Barlow
3rd Colin Spall/Keith Pepper
Overall Winners and a Massive Congratulations James Rintoul & Dan West from Blean Angling!!
I would like to say a massive thank you to Lee & Fraggle for the hard work they have put in over the year marshalling the whole event. I spoke to everyone and they all said that you both did an Awesome job through the year!! Roll on next year!

The event is slightly different with 2 lakes being available to us now lake 7 & 8. The event will be run with both lakes running side by side and competitors fighting for points on either lake. On lake 7 15 pairs will fight it out for top 10 as points will run from 1st place 10 pts too 10th 1pt and lake 8 will be 1st place 10pts too 8th place 3pts. All the above points will be then merged into the league, if by the end of the 4 events the top spot is drawn on points the total weight of fish will deter the winner.
FSCC are working hard to get prizes for top 3 on both lakes for each event and also some really good prizes for top 3 in the league, as the companies confirm updates will be put on here and Facebook.
All rules and points system will be live by end of November and hopefully a full list of competitors.
October Event was a success with most pairs catching and a few catching a lot of fish. 4 Pairs caught over 100lb of carp over the 48 hours, with over 13 x 20's and 1 x 38.6lb coming out within these. I thought i would share this photo with you of what i believe is a PB Mirror
Ben & Alex eventually run out winners with over 200lb of carp over the weekend. I would like to congratulate them on an excellent weekend of angling.
